Pre-Wedding Agreement
• Congratulations on your wedding plans! At Mount Olive Lutheran Church, we stand ready to help make your wedding a memorable day. This document explains Mount Olive’s policy regarding weddings, as adopted by our Board of Elders (and found on our website at www.mountolive.ca).
• What Mount Olive Lutheran Church will do for you --
o Check to see if a Christian wedding is right for you.
o Explain the concept of Christian marriage.
o Explain what a Christian wedding worship service is all about.
o Gather the required information for our church records, including your baptismal and confirmation information.
o Help you with your plans, including putting together a wedding service.
o Help find a musician for you and help you choose your music.
o Explain the costs involved.
o Fill out the government forms.
o Explain the use of our facilities.
o Hold a rehearsal.
o Conduct your wedding service.
• What Mount Olive Lutheran Church asks of you –
o Meet with the Pastor to plan your wedding according to the congregation’s policies and guidelines.
o Supply the congregation with your marriage license and all required documentation.
o For all couples, both members and non-members: We require that you attend our next One-Day Premarital Workshop, which will be held

o For those who are not confirmed members of Mount Olive or another Lutheran congregation: We require that you attend a Pastor’s Class on the Teachings of Basic Christianity. If one of you is a member of Mount Olive and the other is not confirmed, we would ask that the two of you attend these sessions together. This class will put your wedding into the context of the Christian faith. The next class will be held starting:
