Good Grief!!!
Grief is no respecter of persons. Grief is necessary and normal. It is a highly personal response to losses that come our way, whenever we must deal with major life changes: loss of health, limb, employment, home, business, infertility, loss of relationships, be it separation, divorce or the loss of a loved one through death. The list goes on."Put it behind you." "Get on with life." "Be strong." "You can marry again." "You can have another baby." "You can find another job." All these statements are little comfort for those in the midst of grief and pain.
Grief can affect us physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and socially.
There is a journey, a process that all grieving persons must walk in order to let go and heal. The process provides a framework of 1) remembering the past, 2) redefining the present, and 3) recreating the future.
The Serendipity study book GRIEF AND LOSS - HOPE IN THE MIDST OF PAIN, is used. It is well put together in a non-threatening way, where all can identify. One does not have to be a Bible scholar to participate. The book covers the stages of loss denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance and hope.
Don't choose to go the difficult journey alone, reach out an receive mutual support, understanding, love and encouragement.
